Rachel Shields  is a descendant of the Weilwan and Gamilaroi peoples of North Western New South Wales.

Rachel says "I acknowledge all elements within me and pay respect to my ancestors, and to the ancestors of all people who walk the Earth today".

 

Rachel is a storyteller and a musician.  She presented her story Yuluwurri Gaayli - Rainbow Child in both language and in English.

​

The story tells of how there is a song of love in all things, how the Rainbow Serpent travels throughout the lands and gathers all the songs of love which are then born into a child.

 

Because the child can hear the songs, it understands how to walk in harmony with all people and all of life. It understands how to walk in acknowledgement of the living spirit in all things.
